[NEWS] Brown Eyed Girls ‘Abracadabra’ is #1 on Music Chart for 3 Weeks Consecutively

Brown Eyed Girls’ recent hit ‘Abracadabra’ has cleared away competition from other girl groups like KARA, 2NE1, After School and 4Minute to stay up #1 on music chart for the 3rd week.

According to music portal site Mnet for the 2nd week of August, the song is up #1 for the 3rd week, with KARA ‘Wanna’ at #2. Another hit from KARA ‘Mister’ which rose up 73 positions to #10 last week fell back 2 positions to be at #12, and it is at #15 on download charts.

Mighty Mouth also went up 26 positions with their recent hit ‘Love Class’ from last week to be at #8 this week, and it is at #4 on the download charts.

Other songs doing well on the chart are Baek Ji Young ‘My Ear’s Candy’ at #27, ‘Seaside’ off SM Summer 09 album by Dong Bang Shin Ki, Super Junior and SHINee at #48, and also Navi’s ‘Wasteful Tears’ at #53.

[NEWS] GDragon’s Solo Debut With ‘Heartbreaker’ Takes The K-Pop World by Storm

Big Bang GDragon has been said to have taken the Kpop world by storm with his solo debut ‘Heartbreaker’.

His first solo album ‘Heartbreaker’ was released on 18th August. And there was a whole outrage of plagiarism accusations which went on, while the song went up to #1 positions on various music sites. Also at the same time, the MV to the song which was released on the same day has has up till now attracted more than 1.5 million views on GomTV.

Meanwhile, plans GDragon’s comeback stage on SBS Inkigayo on 23rd August has been canceled with the cancellation of the show to pay respect for the late ex-president of Korea.

YG Entertainment said, “We are still discussing about his comeback stage date. But we will decide on it soon.”

[NEWS] Big Bang Will Be Back to Perform on Korean Stage in 4 Months

Group Big Bang, which made its successful debut in Japan, will be back to meet their Korean fans in Korea.

Big Bang will be holding a mini concert in Seoul HongDae SangSangMaDang’s live hall on 26th August. The 400 strong audience which get to see the boys perform at the concert will be decided through a computerized selection system for Cafe Latte consumers.

This will be the first time the boys perform on the Korean stage after 4 months since their previous Hite guerilla concert. But member DaeSung will not be performing for the mini concert on that day as he is still in recuperation from his recent accident.

Meanwhile, Big Bang’s first official album released in Japan on 19th August went up to Oricon chart at #2 position.

Before the shooting team arrived, there was already another shoot going on. G-Dragon was shooting pictures for the jacket of his first solo album. However the scene where white gowns and needles were scattered was quickly clean up and started the cover shoots. G-Dragon’s face was darkish. His new concept for his solo album is his blond hair, but since he wanted to keep it a secret until the release; he said that we wore black hats even on the very hot days. He was quicker and calmer than I thought, and he enjoyably posed various poses so that the photographer didn’t even need to order him around. He was the first male model decorating the cover for so make-up artist Im Hae-Kyung wanted to give a strong feeling. “Since G-Dragon’s eyes aren’t that big we always pay attention to his eye make-up and this time he’s the cover model so I paid more attention to his eye lining to give a more stronger feel. The key point of his look today is the blond hair so I barely put any color on his lips.” I asked G-Dragon if he was hungry and tired because of the shoots since morning without eating. G-Dragon gave us a manly answer “I have a lot of energy and I think of photo shoots as playing- I enjoy it very such so it’s not as tiring for me as the people around me are concerned about.”, and moved places saying he had to go do some recording for his album.

[NEWS] Girls’ Generation VS Kara: Beauty Showdown

The two popular girl bands Girls’ Generation and Kara had a showdown on the KBS TV2 show “Star Golden Bell” on August 15 for the title of the most charming group.

Kara’s leader Park Kyu-ri said she envied the Girls’ Generation members for being so close. She said that Kara, which has fewer members, doesn’t appear on TV often because its members are very shy.

In response, Girls’ Generation member Jessica said, “Only the most talkative of us like to talk on TV. I envy groups with few members.” She said that it always takes a while for Girls’ Generation to get prepared because it has so many members. But on Kim Je-dong’s question whether or not the two groups envied each other’s looks, both groups remained silent, creating a tense atmosphere.

When Kim Je-dong asked Kara whether it envied any aspect of Girls’ Generation, Kyu-ri retorted, “The number of members.” As for the members’ looks, she said, “We accept our looks.”

Other guests on the show, which was a special edition dedicated to idol groups, included 2PM and SHINee. 2PM told funny stories about passing gas and the members’ life together.

[NEWS] Big Bang’s Japanese Tour Postponed

Member D-LITE (Daesung) of BIGBANG, the five member group from Korea, suffered serious injuries in a traffic accident. Because of this, they have announced that this fall’s first Japanese tour will be postponed.

The tour, which was to take place in 4 cities with 6 performances, starting October 26th at Nagoya’s Nagoya Zepp and ending November 4th at Tokyo’s Budoukan, has been postponed until the beginning of next year.

At the time of the accident, a 4 week recovery time was expected and tour preparations had gone as planned. However, after a detailed examination, a left eye bone fracture was confirmed and it was decided a complete recovery would take at least 8 weeks. It was determined that recovery and rehearsal and other tour activities were impossible to do at the same time, thus the postponement was decided.

Next year’s tour dates will be announced again after checking Daesung’s recovery progress.

[NEWS] G-Dragon’s MV Trilogy to be Completed with “Boy”

With the “Heartbreaker” MV released and “Breathe” [sexily] alluded to and on the way, only one question remains: what will be the final MV?

The answer is 소년이여 (Boy). The producer is Lee Gibaek. Some other pieces of his are Epik High’s ‘Map the Soul’. He’s also recently worked with Supreme Team and Mighty Mouth.

He’s busy working on the MV – look forward to it.

From top stars who are making a comeback to dramas from movies to popular idol group members, most of these stars are taking on lead roles in dramas and every time they go outside to film, the streets end up being clogged up with fans and neighborhood people hoping to catch a glimpse of their favorite stars.

The reason staff are so focused on protecting the stars is because the fans who come to the locations do more than come to support their favorite celebrity. The fans come as many as 200 at a time and not only does this interfere with filming, it also affects the other actors there as well.

TVXQ member U-Know Yunho, who will be acting under his real name Jung Yunho, shared his feelings about his first drama shoot.

Jung Yunho immersed himself in filming for MBC’s new Wednesday-Thursday drama ‘Heading to the Ground’ where he plays the role of Cha Bong-goon, a man who has nothing except a goal and passion.

On July 28th, Jung Yunho began filming for the first episode at Gangnam Sangsoo-dong by acting as Cha Bong-goon talking with his neighborhood, long-time friend Oh Yeoni (Lee Yoonji). Jung Yunho checked and refined each and every one of his actions and lines and practiced his lines every chance he had. He showed his passion eagerness for his role by asking the staff whether his interpretation of the character was fitting.

TVXQ’s U-Know Yunho is getting strength from his fans’ samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup) support.

U-Know Yunho is taking his first shot at acting with MBC’s new Wednesday-Thursday drama ‘Heading to the Ground’. Thanks to his fans support even during the hot weather, U-Know Yunho never seems to be tired and seems to play his role with more strength and vigor.
A representative of ‘Heading to the Ground’ said, “To support U-Know Yunho, many domestic and international fans visit the filming location almost daily,” and “During the hottest day of the year, the fans prepared samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup) for the staff which helped a lot. Since we were filming outside, they also provided sun lotion for us. We are so thankful.”

After the date for funeral for Korea’s ex-president Kim DaeJoong has been set, all 3 major broadcasting companies proceed with the decision for no airing of shows and comedies on their channels.

And with that, all 3 music shows for this week on KBS, SBS and MBC have been cancelled.

Announced on 19th August shows that will not be aired or are canceled:

Ex-president Kim DaeJoong was hospitalised last month on 13th for pneumonia symptoms, he was given treatment but he passed away on 18th August at 1.43pm. The funeral ceremony will be held on 23rd August.

[NEWS] GDragon’s Debut Solo Album Flying Off Music Charts

After the reveal of GDragon’s first solo album, even though there has been all the discussion and issue about plagiarism brought up in the songs, the album continue to receive good reviews from music fans.

After the song ‘Heartbreaker’ was released on 18th August, the song went up to #1 on various online music chart on the day itself. After that, it was #1 on Mnet real time song chart, Monkey3 music chart, and Melon real time chart etc.

The MV to the song also attracted more than 350K views in just 3 hours into its reveal and more than 550K viewer hits on the day of release.

Also the solo album which is set to be released in Japan on 22nd, is up on HMV weekly ranking at #1.

[NEWS] Yoochun, Junsu, Jaejoong “Focusing Completely on First Court Hearing”

The three members of TVXQ who are currently in a dispute with their agency SM Entertainment, YoungWoong Jaejoong, Micky Yoochun and Xiah Junsu are completely focused on preparing for the first hearing.

On the 17th, a representative of Sejong law firm, that is aiding the three members, told Money Today Star News that, “We are preparing for the first hearing that will be soon,” and “TVXQ’s stand and SME’s Stand on this situation have not changed at all.”
He also said, “As they are still under SM Entertainment, all five of them are completing the shcedules they have been given.”

The three members’ lawsuit’s first hearing will be held on the 21st this month.
The three members of TVXQ filed for an Exclusive Contract Validity Suspension and Provisional Disposition Request against their agency SM Entertainment on July 31st asking for their release from their exclusive contract. They also filed for a Preservation of Evidence request so that they could calculate the exact amount of their income. TVXQ’s leader U-Know Yunho and youngest member Choikang Changmin did not participate in this lawsuit.
