The new single “COLORS ~Melody and Harmony~” is Jejung and Yuchun’s duet song during “4th LIVE TOUR 2009 ~The Secret Code~ FINAL in TOKYO DOME,” which was sung together with 50,000 fans under a warmhearted atmosphere. What is the meaning behind this song? Let’s find out.

Q: How did you compose songs?
YC: My own way of composing, ai~ (sighs) I normally compose during my bouts of loneliness. The melody of that song (“COLORS~”) was one of Jejung’s creations, which was really good (the melody). Therefore, I asked Jejung hyung, “Let’s complete this together?”
JJ: During that time, Yuchun came looking for me and said, “The melody done by you is really beautiful~ Let’s work on it?” I said, “Okay~”
YC: Luckily, he didn’t say “NO!”
JJ: I wouldn’t say that kind of thing. (laughs)
YC: Very warm-hearted ah, Jejung hyung~

-Even when they’re on and off as Tohoshinki members, the two are always close together. Where do you think each other’s charm lies? To further inform our readers who only see the two on stage, please let us hear your thoughts
JJ: I think Yuchun’s good point is when his heart moves. Besides having that in common with him, I feel that we are the same. I’ve always felt that way since the first time I met him.
YC: I think Jaejung’s best point is that he is the type who listens to others well. His charm lies in both the way you can talk earnestly with him and how he understands your pain.

Q: The best memories this summer?
JJ: Absolutely it’s a-nation! I really enjoyed it this year! a-nation is the best!

YC: a-nation is a good memory, but the activities of Jejung and I as two members left me with good memories as well. We never do this kind of activities before. Even in the interview shooting, when the MC called our two names, I felt really strange at first. But it’s somehow also fresh, we did have fun, a real happy experience.

Q: Is there anything you want to do this summer?
YC: I’m still unable to find lover (laughs). Other things we have already achieved, however for this one, this is the only thing left to do (laughs).

JJ: Travelling. Once when I had some days off, I was going to go, but unfortunately I caught a cold… so I had to spend most of the time on bed, it was really disappointing.

JEJUNG and YUCHUN, Tohoshinki’s one and only “unit,” takes the top spot in today’s Oricon Daily Chart. They sold a whopping 103,940 copies of their single “COLORS ~Melody and Harmony / Shelter.” The gap between the first and second place is quite big, with VAMPS selling only 13,962. Kawamura Ryuuichi is at third with 6,521 copies sold.

[NEWS] Tohoshinki’s Best Record! 180K Copies Shipped On The First Day Of Release!

Jejung (23) and Yuchun (23) from Tohoshinki (a group consisting of 5 Korean members) formed a new unit under the name of 「JEJUNG & YUCHUN（from 東方神起）」and released their single 「COLORS ~ Melody and Harmony~」today, on the 30th. Taking into account that this is the first shipment only and they have already sent out 180,000 copies, this is a phenomenal record for the CD industry which is in recession. This is a start to Tohoshinki breaking their past “highest in history” records.

Theirs is the first unit (T/N: like a sub-group) from Tohoshinki, and it sparked a furor.

Early in September, when it was released online as a ringtone, the number of downloads exceeded 250,000. As of 29th September, the first shipment made for the CD exceeded 180,000.
