When you think of groups like 4minute and 2NE1, what comes to mind? From leggings with gaping holes to rose-patterned swimsuits, the bold and trailblazing fashion sense of kpop’s trendiest groups undoubtedly plays a big factor in creating the unique identity of every group. Recently, many personal belongings of various celebrities have been put up for auction to benefit charity.

In this Celebrity Volunteers event sponsored by bntNews and Hyundai, Big Bang, 4minute, 2NE1 and Goo Hye Sun donated personal wardrobe items and paraphernalia in order to help children’s charities in Korea. Furthermore, Wheesung and Chunsin-soo will be present for a signing event as well.

“We hope that poor children will be happier and better off with the proceeds from these charity items,” a Hyundai official expressed. “We want to give them hope.”

Since they are role models for many people both in Korea and worldwide, it’s great to see celebrities out and about to support the community. This event will be held from November 20-26, so start collecting your money for these one-of-a-kind items!

[NEWS] G-Dragon Chosen as Idol Who Could Pursue Acting

Sidus HQ Training Center C.A.S.T. by iHQ, a center for training actors in Korea, took a survey of which idol star would succeed in acting.

The survey was open for 5 days from October 28th to November 1st and in the end Big Bang’s G-Dragon won 217 votes taking the lead for the male category

The runner-ups were Ok Taecyeon of 2PM ,earned 174 votes

The people who took the survey reasoned that G-Dragon has given great acting performances in Big Bang’s music videos and he always gives a powerful performance on stage. People also commented that if he became an actor he could take on any kind of role from a cute boy to a charismatic guy.

[NEWS] How Much Will SNSD’s Personal Collectibles Be Worth?

The auction date for SNSD’s personal collectibles is nearing.

From 23rd October, SNSD’s outfits from ‘Chocolate Love’ MV had been put up for auction. The proceeds from this auction will go to helping needy children around the world.

SNSD’s auction had brought in much interest because the member’s individual popularity will be especially evident in the bidding. Currently, Yoona is leading with 8060,000 Won (~USD$8060) offered, with Tiffany in the 2nd with 7000,000 Won (~USD$7000). Taeyeon, who is popular among the male fans had not fared as well as what everyone believed. Taeyeon came in 3rd, behind Yoona and Tiffany with 6440,000Won (~USD$6400).

The member of male duo “Leessang”, Gil, made an appearance on the cable channel KBS JOY’s program “SNSD’s Hello Baby” as a one-day father.

A Japanese blog had stated that the music used in SamYang Ramen CF with SNSD had infringed copyrights. The background music in this CF is similar to the one used in the hit Japanese game “Bubble Bobble”.

The advertisers had responded to this claim that they had received permission to use this music and had paid for the use of the music to the original owner of the “Bubble Bobble” track.

5-member girlgroup WonderGirls will be returning to the States again to resume their promotions there.

On 3rd November, a representative revealed, “The WonderGirls will returning to the States this weekend on either the 7th or 8th. After returning to the States, the girls will be doing interviews from magazines and newspapers as well as appear on TV shows.”

With this, the girls will be heading back to the States about 2 weeks after they have returned to Korea. The girls also did a 2D1N promotions in China during their stay in Korea.

Health and Family Welfare association under the Youth Protection Committee has revealed on 3rd November that GDragon’s first solo album ‘Heartbreak’ is inappropriate for youth. And in particular the 2 problematic songs from the album are ‘She’s Gone’ and ‘Korean Dream’.

A SM Entertainment representative revealed on 3rd November that member JongHyun of group SHINee has contracted swine flu.

But they assured that his health condition is not very serious currently. He is currently resting at the hospital and receiving treatment for it.

The SM representative also revealed that SHINee will continue the promotions for their current hit ‘Ring Ding Dong’ as 4 members on music shows.

[NEWS] SM Ent Boycotts MAMA

We bring you yet more unfortunate news: artistes of SM Entertainment will not be taking part in the 2009 MAMA.

SME announced on November 3rd that their artistes including Super Junior, SNSD, SHINee and f(x) will not be attending MAMA. The reason given was that MAMA will be using a process similar to how MNET’s music program M! Countdown selects its winners, and SME does not trust the method nor believe that it is fair.

TVXQ’s fanclub Cassiopeia has expressed their official stand on SM Entertainment’s press conference.

On the 2nd of November, they have stated their official standpoint through a fansite.

Cassiopeia expressed, “Everything, excluding the words directly from TVXQ, we do not believe, and we would like SM to stop trying to divide the fans by causing confusion/chaos.” and “We are very disappointed, and saddened with SM by saying those statements were by Yunho and Changmin, and also with the press conference. The reason for this lawsuit is because of the 13-year slave contract, not because of the cosmetic business. With the court’s decision released on the 27th, SM is to not interfere with the three members’ own/individual activities, and would immediately like for SM to stop with their actions on trying to divide the TVXQ members.”
