[TRANS] Big Bang’s Interview in ViVi Magazine

They debuted in 2006. The next year “Lie”, written and composed by leader G-Dragon was 1st on the charts for 8 weeks, and they swept all the major Korean music awards. They stood at the top of the Korean music industry in 2007, and just one year after their debut they started their overseas activities. In June this year, they finally released their Japanese major debut single “My Heaven”, which reached third on the Oricon charts at once. A record! They’re very different from other idol groups at the moment. Their influential songs and cool visuals. Right now they are the singing and dancing, talent-based idol group representing asia. They still hide lots of secrets even after their major debut, so ViVi interviewed them to show the true Big Bang!

-First, please introduce to us the song <Let Me Hear Your Voice>
YB: The 2 other songs we’ve released in Japan so far have been enjoyable club music but this time it was for a drama so to fit that image, and since it’s Autumn the song is a lyrical ballad.

-The lyrics about thinking of your girlfriend is really sad. But the BigBang-ish tempo gave it quite an optimistic feeling and sound.
YB: You’re right. I think the song feels different depending on who the person listening to it is. We wanted to make a song that’s not just sad, but also hopeful.

[NEWS] Top 10 for 2009 Melon Music Awards Confirmed

The long-awaited top 10 list for ‘2009 Melon Music Awards 2009′ has been confirmed.

The upcoming event to be held on 16th December in Olympic Park Olympic Hall has confirmed the nominees for the awards to be – 2NE1, 2PM, 8eight, Davichi, Brown Eyed Girls, So Nyeo Shi Dae, Super Junior, KARA, K Will and GDragon.

Big Bang TOP, who has been promoting as actor recently, is known to have received a proposal to star in write Song JiNa’s new production.

And according to YG Entertainment said on 25th November through a phone interview, “We have received for TOP to star in Song JiNa’s new drama ‘Zero Plus’. But we have humbly declined the proposal due to TOP’s movie filming and Big Bang promotions.”

[NEWS] JoKwon Doesn’t Want To Be Seen As Being Feminine

We’re no stranger to 2AM leader Jo Kwon’s crazy ssanti ways, but on the November 24th episode of Sang Sang Plus, Jo Kwon spoke out about his body and his dislike of being seen as “feminine.”

He said:

“It’s stressful to hear that I’m pretty. My voice is very feminine as well, so often when I answer the phone at home, people have said to my mother ‘Your daughter’s voice is very pretty’. And because my body is small and thin, I get seen in a feminine view. So for 2 years I rigorously worked out and afterwards people were surprised when they saw my body.”

[NEWS] MBLAQ Lee Joon Down With Swine Flu

Swine flu is back again, and this time, it’s MBLAQ’s resident vocalist, Lee Joon.

On the 25th, a representative of JTune Entertainment stated: “Lee Joon was declared positive for H1N1 and got hospitalized today. He was prescribed Tamiflu and is currently undergoing treatment. Other members also have symptoms of the cold, so they have received examinations today as well. The results will be available two days from now.”

MBLAQ will temporarily continue their activities as a four member group – of course, that’s only if the other members don’t have the virus. However, their performance on KBS Music Bank scheduled to air on the 26th has been canceled.

Unfortunately Lee Joon will remain hospitalized when Ninja Assassin hits theaters on November 25th.

[NEWS] U-Kiss DongHo Rushed Into ER Last Weekend, “I’m Alright Now”

News have came late that UKiss member DongHo was rushed to ER earlier for neurological enteritis.

DongHo has participated in the baseball match in JeJu Island which took place from 20th to 22nd November for KBS 2TV ‘Invincible Baseball’.

DongHo had complained of abdominal pain after returning to the dormitary after the first game with a strong Busan baseball team on 21st November. Following that on 22nd November, he was rushed into ER in a hospital in JeJu island.

3 members from girlgroup f(x) - Amber, Sulli and Krystal – have been confirmed of swine flu!

SM Ent said on 23rd November, “f(x) members Amber, Krystal and Sulli have been confirmed of swine flu while the group is currently promoting their single ‘Chu~♡. The 3 members developed flu symptoms last night and they were confirmed of swine flu on the afternoon of 23rd November.”

[NEWS] KBS, MBC and SBS Will Not Give Out Awards For Year-End Music Festivals This Year

The 3 major broadcast companies in Korea – MBC SBS KBS – will not have any award ceremony for their year-end music festivals.

MBC said on 23rd November, “This year alike, we will not be giving out awards for our year-end music festivals to the singers.” MBC started having their ‘Teens Singer Music Festival’ which they will give out awards every year. But from 2006, they decided to do away with the awards and named it as ‘MBC Music Festival’, and have singers showcase various performances during the event.

[NEWS] SM Entertainment Incensed with TVXQ Trio at MAMA

The inaugural MAMA awards might have been over just recently, with the TVXQ trio of Jaejoong, Yoochun and Junsu making an appearance and receiving the “Best Representative for Asia” award on behalf of TVXQ.

But in a interview with SM Entertainment right after the MAMA was concluded, a representative said that they had no right to do so:

“The trio had no right to receive the award on behalf of TVXQ. The awards organizer should give the award to a liaison on behalf of SM Entertainment instead. This is unacceptable since they had only invited the 3 members.”

In response, a MNET representative stated:

“We invited all 5 TVXQ members to the MAMA awards ceremony beforehand. But only the trio responded to our request while the other two did not. We don’t see any problems with the trio receiving the award on behalf of the whole group.”

Five-member boy band SS501 is taking the Taiwanese music industry by storm, sweeping Taiwan’s music charts with their newly released mini-album “Rebirth”.

The doors of Hollywood are continuing to open for Korean superstar Rain who is currently looking through several scripts for his next big screen appearance, according to his agency on Friday.

“He is currently looking at about six scripts but has not reached any sort of decision yet,” an official at J.Tune Entertainment said. “He is taking his time to decide, looking through each one carefully with an open mindset.”

[NEWS] SNSD Yuri Falls Asleep While Making Kimchi

On ‘Invincible Youth’ November 20th, SNSD Yuri, Sunny, Brown Eyed Girls Narsha, 4Minute Hyuna, T-Ara Hyomin, Secret Sunhwa and Kara Goo Hara started to make Kimchi.

On this cold day, while sleepily rubbing their eyes the G7 began making Kimchi. In the midst of this, Yuri dozed off.

People began to say “how can you fall asleep while making Kimchi?” then the comments turned around to “she must have been very tired to have fallen alseep while making Kimchi.” Yuri woke up to say “I fall asleep if I work sitting down,” so the G7 shouted out “then stand up and do it.”

So Yuri stood up and made Kimchi, and started to dance. The other G7 members who were hard at work yelled out “you’re flying dust around the place!!” Yuri was shocked.
