Five-member boy band SS501 is taking the Taiwanese music industry by storm, sweeping Taiwan’s music charts with their newly released mini-album “Rebirth”.
The album has been ranked No. 1 in album sales on China’s largest online music website, BOOKS.COM for four consecutive weeks and placed first on G-Music Asia Chart and Five Music Asia’s Current Chart for two weeks straight immediately after the album’s release on October 30.

SS501 was on KBS ‘Champagne’ aired on 8th November and leader Kim HyunJoong was featured for the ‘Top 32 Ideal Type WorldCup’ corner where he has to choose his ideal type of woman from the list of female celebrities based just on their looks.
And during one the rounds of elimination, he was faced with having to choose between Lee Hyori and HwangBo - one his ideal type of woman and the other his made-believe wife. He went for Lee Hyori between the 2.

On the SS501 special on KBS 2TV “Shin DongYeob and Shin BongSeon’s Champagne”, the 3 leading musical actresses from “Legally Blond”, Jessica, Honey Lee, Kim Jiwoo were all present.
The female artistes present first watched the SS501 members work their charms and through an elimination process, picked the most charming member. Heo YeongSaeng, who was picked as the most charming member had a surprising dance to “Gee” with Jessica.

DSP Media on Wednesday played down rumors from earlier in the day which said that their group SS501 will not attend a year-end music award ceremony held by cable music channel Mnet to boycott the event.
“We are not boycotting the 2009 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA),” stated an official at DSP Media. He explained that the five-member group will not be able to attend the event as they are busy promoting their new album “Rebirth” and have to travel overseas to hold concerts as part of their Asia tour.
