[NEWS] Davichi Takes SNSD off Record-Breaking 8 Weeks Win on Mnet

Female duo group Davichi had taken So Nyeo Shi Dae off their record-breaking 8 consecutive win on Mnet (www.mnet.com) for the 2nd week of March.

Davichi’s new hit song ‘8282′ is the new #1, taking So Nyeo Shi Dae’s ‘Gee’ off the position on Mnet. ‘8282′ has rosen up 50 ranks in 1 week, making its way up to the #1 position in just 2 weeks.

Meanwhile, So Nyeo Shi Dae ‘Gee’ was at #2 position at the 2nd week of March with their download rank at the #12 position. So Nyeo Shi Dae member So Hyun and singer Joo Hyun Mi’s trot hit ‘JJa Ra Ja Jja’ was also at #19 position.

The artistes at the top 10 positions are groups KARA, FT Island and SS501, occupying the lower ranks in the top 10 positions while solo singers WheeSung and Hwayobi are at #3 and 5.

[NEWS] Brown Eyed Girls GaIn Gains 8kg for Movie

Group Brown Eyed Girls GaIn had gained 8 kg in just 2 months for the filming of the movie ‘My Love By My Side’.

GaIn was recently casted in the movie by movie director Park Jin Pyo. GaIn said in an interview recently, “Director Park has bought me many expensive tonic for me to gain weight. After eating the tonics, I have agined 8 kg.”

Before this, GaIn weighs about 40 kg but for the sake of the movie filming, she is now weighing at 50kg. GaIn plays an athletic schoolgirl who was turned disabled in an accident.

The movie ‘My Love By My Side’ stars Kim Myung Min and Ha Ji Won.

[NEWS] SS501, New Japanese Album in May

SS501 will resume Japanese activities in May. They plan to release an album and promote for a month.

Currently member Kim Hyun Joong is in the drama “Boys Over Flowers,” originally a Japanese comic, and is enjoying success. It’s in discussion that the Korean version of “Boys Over Flowers” will be aired in Japan in April on Mnet Japan.

The two songs that SS501 sings on the “Boys Over Flowers” soundtrack, “Because I’m Stupid” (내머리가 나빠서) and “Making a Lover” (애인만들기), have received a big response from Japanese fans.

[NEWS] Rain Sued in US Over Concert Cancellation

The civil trial against South Korean pop star and actor Rain is scheduled to begin Tuesday in U.S. District Court, The Associated Press reported.

Rain whose real name is Jung Ji-hoon and his producers are being sued over the performer’s abrupt cancellation of a June 2007 concert in Honolulu. Jury selection is scheduled to begin Tuesday and Rain could be called to testify as early as Wednesday, AP said.

“He will be appearing at some point in the litigation,” the performer’s Honolulu attorney Jennifer Lyons was quoted as saying.

Hawaii-based Click Entertainment Inc. alleges in the suit that Rain and his producers defrauded it of more than $500,000 paid in licensing fees. Also, it is seeking additional damages for the cost of staging the event, including rental of Aloha Stadium, stage production, travel, hotel accommodations, merchandising and advertising.
