[NEWS] BoA to Release Her 1st Album in America, March 2009

Superstar BoA has finally unveiled the release date of her first regular album in America. In a radio interview with KIIS-FM in Los Angeles, she made a surprise announcement that her regular album will be marketed next March. This is the first time that any official reference was made to the release date.

BoA is currently staying in the U.S. to work on the album with two famed music producers, Brian Kennedy and Sean Garrett. Having launched her career in the U.S. with the digital single “Eat You Up” in late October, she has steadily made names for herself by appearing on MTV New York Live program and the Jingle Ball Concert. However, not having a regular album out has impeded her music career from panning out further in America. So once her album is released in March, she’ll be able to put on more aggressive PR activities and performances.

The American mainstream music market has been a tough nut to crack for Asian pop stars. Korean and Asian music lovers are waiting to see how bit this Korean pop diva can make it in the fiercely competitive market.

[NEWS] Girls’ Generation “Awakening” Concept for Jan 7 Mini Album

The teaser video for Girls’ Generation’s comeback mini album (January 7 release) will be released on January 2.

Girls’ Generation’s comeback concept has been announced as “Awakening,” in which the members are displayed as mannequins in the window who wake up within 25 seconds. The mini album “Gee” will be bright, attractive, and pure, and is expected to stir the hearts of music fans.

The “Gee” teaser will be released on Girls’ Generation’s official site (www.girlsgeneration.com) and other various portal sites. Starting December 26, teaser posters were everywhere in Seoul to gain interest in the teaser, and the agency expects it to be a hot interest topic.

Girls’ Generation’s mini album “Gee” will be released on January 7.

[NEWS] DBSK to Start Concert Tour from Seoul Next Feb

Group Dong Bang Shin Ki to begin on their 3rd concert tour.

‘The 3rd Asia Tour – Mirotic’ will set to start in February next year in Seoul, and will move on to 5 other cities like Beijing, ShangHai and Taipei in 12 concert performances. Seoul’s concert performance will be in Seoul Olympic Stadium on 20th to 22nd February.

For their last Asia concert tour, seeing 390,000 fans turning up, the ticket reservation website will be down the moment ticket sales start. This time, ticket sales will be on 7th, 12th and 15th January, 3 windows to prevent the same thing from happening again, on audition ticket site.

[NEWS] Super Junior for New Album next March

SM’s 13-member group Super Junior will be back in Korea for their new album next March after their last album ‘Don’t Don’t’ released in September 2007.

Super Junior leader Lee Teuk announced on SBS Gayo DaeJeon on 29th December, “We are in the midst of recording for our new album. The album is set to come next March.”

After their 2nd album, Super Junior released 2 unique groups Super Junior M and Super Junior Happy. This album will have Super Junior member back in to the main group again after 1 year and 6 months. Super Junior M will also end their activities by end-January in China.

[NEWS] DBSK, ‘SBS Gayo Daejun’ Why Did They Sing ‘Under My Skin’?

[My Daily News] Group TVXQ’s single of the 4th album ‘Order – MIROTIC’ had been modified back to the former version of the original record in a long time in front of their fans, and it attracted attention.

In Ilsan, KINTEX on the 29th of December at 10PM “2008 SBS Star Wars”, one of the biggest events of the season wherein only the most popular top stars come together to participate. TVXQ went on stage before BoA ended the festival. They performed “Wrong Number” and Order-MIROTIC, with this version modifying the lyrics back to before.

TVXQ in November had an issue with the Family Health and Welfare under the Youth Protection Committee due to the song MIROTIC not for the youth, and the decision is effective that to media a modified version of the original lyrics were changed to protect the youth. In this modified version of the lyrics, “Under my skin” became “Under my sky” as part of the song.

However, the fans crying out “Under my skin” during the Gayo Daejun had proven right in the modified version. This was possible because the SBS Gayo Daejun was broadcasted in the late hours. The Youth Protection ordinance says that the Youth Protection regulations time to prevent “harmful information” are broadcast from 1:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on weekdays. TVXQ appeared on stage after the 12th hour [12MN] meaning that the law didn’t matter because the time did not apply to the original record.

TVXQ’s agency response was that “It was broadcast on late-night time zone at 0’clock over time so I do not think that was a problem,” he explained the reason and, “in this stage Dong Bang Shin Ki was the last schedule,” the original meaning was called indirectly from the performance.

Meanwhile, TVXQ’s agency SM Entertainment signed the court application of for the re-examination of the cancellation of the notice from the Youth Protection Committee of the content of their song being unsuitable  for the youth.
