We’ve been posting quite a lot about our friends from the other East coast in the past month. From Megan Fox having the hots for South Korean actor/singer Rain to the Wonder Girls and their tour with the Jonas Brothers — as well as their English rendition of mega-hit “Nobody,” now sold on iTunes. Today, we keep chugging along on the Asian-Pop Express with an exclusive premiere of BoA’s new video, “Energetic,” and a Q&A with its star.

BoA, one of Asia’s top-selling pop singers, recently dropped her self-titled American debut album, BoA, back in March; below, the 22-year-old talks to EW about living Stateside, working with Britney, and crushing on American heartthrobs. [NEWS] Kim Bum, ” F4 Fans, Don’t Feel Betrayed!”

F4 Kim Bum will be acting in a totally different character for his next piece. Kim Bum will be in a new SBS drama, “Dream – Drama” as the character Lee Jang-seok.

Being an actor involves in changing images and transformations into a new person for every piece of work. So, this time Kim will be taking on a new role and hopes that the fans from “Boys over Flowers” will not feel betrayed or disappointed in a different image of Kim through this new drama.

Kim will take a more masculine and tough character because his character is a skilled pickpocket as a teen and a kickboxing athelete as a young man.

This Korean-Japanese drama shows the world of sports business through different characters’ ambitions, despairs, love, and maturity.

The drama will be aired this 27th.

[NEWS] U.S Wants Nobody Nobody But Them

Who: Korean retro-styled pop quintet, comprising of Kim Yu Bin, 20; Park Ye Eun, 19; Min Sun Ye, 19; Sun Mi, 16; and Ahn So Hee, 16. Chosen from auditions by JYP Entertainment, they shot to fame in Asia in 2007.
Tipped to be: A perkier version of the Spice Girls.

What’s going on? They released the English version of their hit Nobody in May. Also made their live United States debut in Portland on June 27, opening for the Jonas Brothers.

How are they doing? Pretty good – blogger Perez Hilton featured two of their hit videos on his blog last year, saying: “So fabs…we love it!” Virgin Media also named them as one of the top eight girl groups to watch, placing them beside groups like the Pussycat Dolls, Girls Aloud and Danity Kane.

We say: Their star is on the rise. They have an extended tour with the Jonas Brothers; they were originally scheduled to open for just 13 dates, but the brothers themselves requested that they stay on for the entire 45-show run. The Wonder Girls can count some really big names in their audience, the biggest being Mrs Michelle Obama and daughters Malia and Sasha.

Now, all they need to do to grab more headlines is for one of them to date one of the Purity Ring Jonas Brothers.

[NEWS] FT Island’s Lee Hongki, “Radio DJing Will Continue To Be My Challenge.”

“As Lee Hongki, I want to build a big building in Gangnam.”

Lee Hongki debuted as a child actor even before he turned into the main vocal of the band, FT Island.

“Because it was my dream to be an entertainer. As an entertainer, it is a pity that we cannot have our own private lives.”

Hongki had recently stepped down from being the host of SBS Inkigayo to concentrate on their album promotional activities.

[NEWS] Big Bang Are #1 Artistes Koreans Want To Sit Next To On Airplanes

With the recent Japanese comedy movie ‘Happy Flight’, a survey was done on ‘Which star do you want to sit next to you in the airplane’. This survey was conducted on fans in their teens and 20s. Idol group Big Bang got #1 on the survey with 60.71% of the votes.

Other stars voted in this survey are idol groups Dong Bang Shin Ki (17.86%), Super Junior (14.29%) and SS501 (7.14%).

Even though Big Bang is currently busy promoting in Japan, they continue to receive lots of love and support from their Korean fans.

[NEWS] Park TaeHwan’s father, “My Son is Going Out With SunYe? He Still Does Not Have a Girlfriend”

National swimmer Park Tae Hwan’s father speaks up about the rumors about his son and Wonder Girls SunYe’s love relationship.

His father Park InHo was at InCheon airport to send off his son for ‘2009 World athlete conference’ as aired on tvN on 22nd July.

He said about his son and his insecurities as his parent whenever he goes for competitions. He then talked about his son’s relationship with Wonder Girls member Sunye, “TaeHwannie and SunYe are really close friends. I was even greeted by (met up with) SunYe before. When I look at my son, I think he is really good looking but I don’t understand why he does not have a girlfriend yet.”

This will be broadcasted on 22nd July at 11pm.

[NEWS] 2NE1 Park Bom, “There Were Plans For Me, Goo HyeSun and Sandara Park To Be In A Trio”

Newcomer 4-member group 2NE1 member Park Bom revealed that there were actually plans for her to be in a trio group together with Sandara Park and Goo Hye Sun.

Park Bom was with the other 2NE1 members attending the exhibiting of fellow YG artistes Goo Hye Sun as shown on 2NE1 TV aired on 22nd. During the show, the girls had given their congratulatory greetings to Goo Hye Sun, she smiled and looked at the camera, “I will appear here too? So you will do a HyeSunTV too?”

With that Park Bom said, “In 2005, I heard that YG had wanted me, Sandara Park, and Goo Hye Sun to be in a 3-member group.” and Sandara Park who was just standing beside her nodded.

Goo Hye Sun said, “Really? How come I didn’t get to know this?” She gave a surprised look but continued, “It’s a good thing he didn’t. I’m not good at singing.”

Meanwhile, the 4th episode of 2NE1TV will be aired at 6pm on 22nd July.
