actually (is it just me) i think they are using ‘nobody’ to grab people’s attention as it is truly a very catchy song.

Everyone starts out small and so do the Wonder Girls when they’re in the USA ^^ Maybe you should take a look at AKP’s interview with Epik High’s Tablo.
I seriously love that guy ‘cos whatever he said in that interview made a lot of sense. It’s not about breaking into the USA market by masking your ‘Asianess’ or ‘Koreaness’ in this matter. And it’s not all about speaking good and fluent English.
It’s about showing your own style of music. Something fresh in the USA market it’d say.
Well , music is universal. There might be people who love it, but there’ll also be people who hate it. Music’s about adaptability too? It’s about how the listeners adapt to a new/fresh genres. From what I see, songs like ‘Nobody’ aren’t really that common in the US so people will have to take time to actually get used to songs like these ^^
All in all, I’m going to support Wonder Girls all the way. ^^ Go go go! You girls can do it

I hope they don’t succeed in the US. It would be a shame for them to be recognized as one of Korea & Asia’s best groups/artists when they sing as they do. And also when there are countless other artists who are so much more talented yet who are going to get no promotion in the US and be left with their career in ruins. It’s not a just world. And as far as their “unique” style goes, since when is copying black music and singing it in a squeaky childish voice a style?

Good luck Wonder Girls – the only Korean group that I pay attention to. All the girls, except for So Hee (with “squeaky childish voice”) has a really good and pretty strong voice. Despite being successful in America is very tough for Asian singers but maybe they’re one in a million??? I think Their style of music is pretty interesting. Wish them luck and come back with fame!

I’m a Canadian, and i absolutely love the wonder girls. They’re going to definitely make it to the top. Everyone who i know who listens to them loves them. At my school, we had this one hallway where we played nothing but Super Junior, 2NE1, Big Bang, Wonder Girls, etc. and everyone always loved the Wonder Girls Songs

I don’t quite get what you mean. To learn back english in Korea is just silly.. They’ve got the chance to learn english in U.S. where the main language is english. If they learn it on the birth language land with the people who speaks them perfectly like the Jonas Brothers, they have the chance on learning and improving them faster. Sending them back to Korea will just disturb their concentration.

How would you feel if others here and there wished you to get hit by a train or something? Their unique style is real and if you were to say they copied then lots of U.S artists are fake then to you? If you want to judge things like that, have you thought of that? Almost half of the artist copied but they changed them a bit.. But for Korean artists, they’ve always make a new style.. People like you might be old fashion. Squeaky childish voice is a style and you are low to even understand why. Every single style is artistic.

It’s that time of the year (June to August) where American students are on school breaks & adults are on vacations, & there are always a handful of catchy hits heard on the radio, at the beach, in the car, at backyard BBQs.
“Nobody” is bubblegum enough to break out as a summer song. Sometimes these songs are embraced as novelties (eg. “Macarena”, Spice Girls’ “Wannabe”), other times as guilty pleasures (eg. Pussycat Dolls’ “Don’t Cha”, Bananarama’s “Cruel Summer”). Once in a while, there comes one that completely dominates like Rihanna’s “Umbrealla” 2 years ago. Other examples: Leona Lewis’s “Bleeding Love” Lewis) last year, Shakira’s “Hips Don’t Lie” in ’06, Gwen Stefani’s “Hollaback Girl” in ’05, etc.
I can even envision American Idol spoofing “Nobody” next year, if it does become a radio hit.
For the arrogant person who wrote “They will not be a big hit in the US”. Who the heck are you to say they won’t? If it’s your opinion, then that’s fine, but you talk like you know it’ll happen. Who knows, maybe they won’t. I like the wondergirls, I like their music, and I noticed it, as well as many people from all of Asia and now America.

Lack of language proficiency won’t be as damaging as lip-syncing, especially if the media over there plays it up. Asian audiences are more forgiving, whereas the US public are conditioned to treat it as a complete turn-off.

Honestly speaking,when I first listened to Nobody’s Eng Ver,I disliked it,but after giving it a lot of listening,I start to love it,I mean it’s not as catchy as the Korean one,but it’s okay. Regarding the girls’ English articulation,I think people should give them time,I know they can do it,it’s not easy for people who come from a country, where English is not the first language,to articulate the words quickly. I believe the Wonder Girls can do it,so do the other groups..Go Wonder Girls!
Saying they aren’t going to get big simply because you don’t like them is ignorant. Sure, their English isn’t amazing, but let’s see you fly to Korea (knowing absolutely no Korean) and try to do a Korean song. Of course you aren’t going to sound your best – whereas if you study a little longer and pay attention to pronunciation a little more, you’ll get better with time.
Give these girls a chance. “Nobody” is a catchy song, whether you like it or not. Just like every other song that has ever been released, some like it, some don’t. Not everyone is going to love this song, but hoping and wishing for them to have zero success in the US is awful, even if you HATE the Wonder Girls. If you don’t like them, then why are you here, anyways? That’s a better question. Take your negative comments elsewhere because I can assure you that no one here feels like hearing it.

The Korean Song was A LOT BETTTER!!! The song is great, the group is great, so as the choreo. And there is a possibility that they will be noticed in the US. Honestly for me, the Korean version is much better than the english one. To “Did somebody say unique?”, you call their voices squeaky and childish? let me ask you this, have you ever heard of “ORIGINALITY”? even though i don’t agree that their voices are squeaky, if that’s how you hear them, then i like it. having you’re own trademark is what makes a singer a hit. Its what makes them THEM. The way Michael Jackson has the only voice that can go with RNB even though it’s high. the way David Cook has a throaty voice or the way Adam Lahmbert can hit notes nobody even knew existed. If the Wonder Girls will be known for their said so (by you) “squeaky” voices, then let it be. I’ll still love them because that’s THEM. if you don’t like them fine, but before insulting and wishing them misfortune, first think of your idol singers and what you love about them and what their known for. with a criticizing attitude like that, you’ll be known for being arrogant, and i wouldn’t like that if i were you.

I absolutely love this song “NOBODY”, it’s very original, and I don’t think they have childish squeaky voice, I hope they succeed in the US, even though there’s a lot of pop artists here, but this group is unique, they are ASIAN, how many Asian pop artist had succeed the Music Industry? I would say “NONE”, and they might be the one that will. Look at Lady Ga Ga, she’s not particular good at singing, if any one have not hear her live, it’s very crappy, but she does have a unique style of her own, and for that, I love her as well. i dont think that this song will be very popular in the us…since the wording is awkward. its really hard to make another language song for the same song, especially if its english, because korean has a lot more syllables than english. but that just tells them that they have to create new songs, not just rely on their old songs translated to english

korean pop is really getting a lot of support. they are overpowering, regardless of their eloquency in english. its their skills, and talents. how they bring about the song, the producing, amount of confidence, fearlessness and most of all, their dancing! haha

I looove this song. As AMAZING as this song and group is, there a lot of other Asian bands that in my opinion should become hits in the US/NORTH AMERICA [why is Canada is always left out? Sheesh]. For example, L’Arc~en~Ciel, Versailles, Yeng Constantino, G-Dragon [okay well maybe not G-Dragon...], Outsider, Dir-en-Grey, etc etc. Idk I’m mostly into the darker music like Versailles and DeG and the North American listener only like catchy pop songs USUALLY. Like the hip hop, rapping, cutsey , pretty, brrght pop stars. A few metal heads might like those bands I mentioned. Outsider is a good rapper, since he actually raps about things that concern the human, and not about the “sexy ladies on the dancefloor” and shit like that =/ idk. It’s one of the reasons why I love Asian music (mostly VK). And well, if any Asian musician were to become a superstar it would be an Asian version of Taylor Swift, Jonas Brothers, Mariah Carey, Demi Lavato etc etc. Ohh and btw I’m filipina. So I’m Asian. Haha =]
